2016 was a year of growth as we deepened the reach of our initiatives adding many new Soaringwords Positive Psychology Workshops to the mix. We were selected from thousands of NYC-based not-for-profit organizations to be featured at Board Match’s Inaugural Event. We secured three new board members this year.

Subject Content Expertise.
I was honored to speak at three international conferences: the Canadian Positive Psychology Conference in Ontario; the European Conference on Positive Psychology in Angers, France; and the first-ever International Positive Education Network Festival in Dallas, TX. These conferences had thousands of attendees and went from early in the morning to the wee hours of the night.

I have met many new collaboration partners from around the world and look forward to sharing these exciting new developments with you.

Soaringwords was featured in a special Children’s Health Report in the December issue of Delta Sky Magazine.

Sharing content with more children and families.
This year we shared our proprietary Soaringwords’ content with more hospital partners to inspire thousands of pediatric patients and their families to experience greater well-being. This content was created in collaboration with several positive psychology thought leaders from around the world. Together we created videos, webinars, articles and curricula modules to help children, their families, and healthcare professionals flourish, even in the midst of illness and medical challenges. Some of the world-renowned collaboration partners include Dr. Angela Duckworth who filmed a Soaringwords video on the power of grit the night before her best-selling book, Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance launched.

Thanks to our Soaringwords team.
Special thanks to our committed Board members, Employee Volunteers Team Captains, thousands of volunteers, interns, and new supporters who have joined the Soaringwords’ movement. This year, we led employee-engagement programs with Accenture, Boston Consulting Group, Cisco,  JP Morgan Chase, New York Life, Presidio, and Viacom.

In 2016, Soaringwords received $256,400 in cash and $312,507 of in-kind donations for a total budget of $568,907.

We welcome the opportunity to speak with you about the year’s performance,
the strategic plan and new initiatives. Sending you abundant health, love and strength.

Warmly,
Lisa
