Buksbaum's Monthly Letter: April, 2007
Swimming in gratitude
Torrential weather and coldness could not deter the daffodils
and tulips from colorful explosions of cheerful optimism. With
all the lovely Spring holidays it's been delightful to spend
gobs of time with family and closest friends who are my "chosen
family." And, I am happy not to see another matzoh ball
for another 12 months....
Exciting news, I will be hosting an Internet radio and TV
show on PalTalk, the largest video chat community on the Internet
with over four million active members. My show, Soaringwords
the Power to Heal will feature experts and authorities in Mind-body
wellness as well as the heroes and heroines from across the
country that are doing great things to overcome life’s obstacles.
If you’re interested in sponsorship information, send me an
email. We’ll be launching live on May 15th at the Soaringwords
5K as Gary Baumgarten, PalTalk’s Head of News broadcasts live
from the 5K event. Soaringwords was also the featured company
in this month’s Fortune Small Business in Giving Back. It was
incredible to get emails and donations from around the country
when the article appeared. Click

This month we were busy running many events to benefit hospitalized
children....at Harlem Hospital, Metropolitan Hospital, Beth
Israel Hospital… and were honored to receive a grant from NYU
Medical Center to support kids at NYU. We’re going to be sharing
Soaringwords programs with Children’s Hospital of Phoenix and
South Nassau Hospital.
On April 23, I was the inspirational keynote speaker for the
Young Women’s Leadership Schools and had the honor of connecting
with 150 outstanding young women. After a panel discussion with
of Danielle Crayton of the JPMorgan Chase Foundation, Tarilyn
Little Service Leader for City Year NY, and Kima Reed of the
Abyssinian Development Corporation everyone participated in
a hands-on team-building community service program of decorating
SoaringQuilts and SoaringPillows to donate to patients at Harlem
Hospital. Thanks to Joy Bunson, formerly of JPMorgan Chase for
making the introduction.

On April 26 we will share several Take Our Children to Work
Day programs with children and employees at: Eaton Vance in
Boston, Horizon Media in NYC who also is hosting 35 children
from PS 152, MagnaCare in Long Island, and EMC Mortgage/Bear
Stearns where I will run a program for 115 children in Dallas.
Hundreds of children will decorate quilts and pillows and learn
that the companies they visit are caring and dedicated professionals
that make tremendous differences in the community.
As we look towards Spring, Summer is almost here and we’re
accepting college and high school students for the 2007 Soaringwords
Summer Internship Program. We already have students from the
University of Pennsylvania, Tufts, University of Michigan, Union
College and other schools. Please Click
Here to download online application and share it with terrific
students.
